PLACES TO VISIT IN ANAGNI
Wide choice of places to visit in Anagni makes it difficult to organize excursion of interest. However, there is an essential selection of sightseeing that alone is worth the trip.
Porta Cerere: iconic door that leads to the northern part of Anagni. It has the verses of Dante engraved on it, taken from the Divine Comedy narrating the event of the “Schiaffo di Anagni” ("Slap of Anagni").
Basilica of Santa Maria: this construction is considered the "Sistine Chapel of the Middle Ages" preserving the Crypt of San Magno - the most beautiful and important in Europe.
